Working safely – what you can do before a meeting
Most meetings go well. Still, it pays to clear a few things up beforehand – especially with new clients. These are the tips sex workers most often give each other.
Before the meeting
- Bookings only: fix the time and duration in advance. Clients who pressure you (“right now”) are harder to read.
- Give the address late: only the district first, the exact address after you accept.
- Rules in writing: settle price, services and limits beforehand – then there's no discussion at the meeting.
- Take warning signs seriously: haggling over rules you stated clearly, insults, constantly changing numbers.
- Gut feeling: if something feels wrong, cancel.
On the day
- Trusted person: send a friend or colleague when and where your booking is – and check in afterwards.
- Phone charged and within reach.
- Money first: many collect at the start, not at the end.
- Know the way out: for outcalls and hotels, know how you get out.

What buhu takes over
- Gives only the district first – the address only after you accept.
- Sends new clients your rules first.
- Optionally, new clients buy pictures online before the first meeting – those who pay are serious.
- You see every request in advance and decide yourself: yes or no.
In Germany, specialist counselling centres for sex work and the professional association BesD offer advice and support.
